With the support of Travel Alberta and the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has presented the Housekeeping Award since 1983. All properties who participate in Check In Canada are eligible and considered for the award. To be considered for a Housekeeping Award, hotels must:
- Be listed on Check In Canada*;
- Comply with the Health Code, Fire Code, and the Innkeepers Act;
- Have been in operation for at least 3 months; and
- Demonstrate excellence in guest reviews related to cleanliness, maintenance, and state of repair.
*Starting in 2020, all AHLA members will receive Housekeeping Reports and will be considered for a Housekeeping Award. The requirement to participate in Check In Canada has been eliminated.
